Congratulations, Kansas City Chiefs! Super Bowl Champs…

Yesterday, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to win their second Super Bowl championship in four years.

In the second quarter, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes re-injured his ankle, but it appears that he was able to recover over halftime and returned to guide Kansas City to a comeback victory over the Eagles.

Despite being behind by 10 points at the half, the Chiefs outscored the Eagles 24-11 in the second half.

After Mahomes had guided Kansas City down the field with a 66-yard drive that featured his own 26-yard rush, Harrison Butker made a 27-yard field goal with the game’s final seconds to give the Chiefs the victory. In the Los Angeles Times

It truly lived up to the expectations and was a game for the ages. Philadelphia Eagles supporters had every reason to think they had an easy path to winning Super Bowl LVII as the first half came to a close. They held the ball under control for more than 20 minutes in the first half and led 24–14.

But being who they are, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes weren’t going to lie down. The Chiefs were blazing in the second half and finally established a 35-27 lead to take control of the contest. The Eagles then had a chance to respond, tying the score at 35 with 5:15 remaining in the fourth. The Kansas City Chiefs won 38-35 thanks to a Harrison Butker field goal with eight seconds remaining, capping a second half that saw them score 24 points.

In addition to winning the Super Bowl MVP honor, Patrick Mahomes also won the NFL MVP award in 2022.
